Waking Life

Waking Life is a midsummer festival, a Landcare project, and a year-round dojo for creation, experimentation and play.

In the Portuguese hills, Waking Life unfolds like a dreamscape — music, art, and community in constant motion. Behind the scenes, 400 volunteers keep this world alive. I coordinated their rhythms: designing shift schedules, dispatching resources across teams, and liaising with leads to ensure every corner of the festival pulsed with energy. It was human work as much as logistical — guiding, troubleshooting, and holding space so that the magic onstage could flow effortlessly.

Stepping into Central Production, I moved into the festival’s core. Logistics, safety, dispatch, crisis response — the invisible architecture that lets thousands of people lose themselves in freedom and beauty. From first setup to final wrap-up, I helped sustain the balance between chaos and flow, making sure the dream could last.
